Sharon Dufresne

Obituary of Sharon Jeanette Dufresne

Sharon Jeanette Dufresne, a long time Alderbrook resident, passed away peacefully in hospice care at her daughter’s home in Arizona on February 13th, 2024 at the age 85.

Sharon was born on July 12, 1938 in Denver, Colorado and was adopted by her parents Harmon and Eva Bordeaux. She grew up in Craig, Colorado and Casper, Wyoming. She excelled on her swim and diving team at Casper High School, graduating in 1956, and going on to college to study drafting.

Sharon worked at Olympic Community College and later was in charge of the loaned executive program at United Way in Bremerton. She also owned and managed a deli at the Central Kitsap mall.

After retirement, she and her husband Gary became tour leaders for an RV organization, leading groups into Mexico, Alaska and other far-flung places for months at a time. She and Gary also flew to South Africa to join an RV group there for an extensive tour of that country. Sharon had a very outgoing and adventurous nature, living in Germany for one year and visiting Egypt, Greece, Ireland, Ecuador, and too many other countries to list here.

After moving to Alderbrook, she took up golf and was a dedicated bridge player. Sharon had a very gentle but also very competitive nature in both of these activities.

Above all, Sharon was a wonderful mother who always made sure that her children knew that she loved them very much.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Gary, sister Marceline, her brother Bud, and by her parents. She is survived by her two daughters, a granddaughter, and many nieces and a nephew.

She will be very much missed by all who knew her.
